Real name of Ozzy Osborne John Michael Osborn. Ozzi was born on December, 3rd, 1948 in Great Britain, in Birmingham. Contrary to a popular belief, John Osborne has received a nickname "Ozzy" in school days: such nickname was given to it by schoolmates for love to the book «Wizard of the country Oz».

Ozzy Osborne studied at one school from Tony Ajommi, however in those days they weren't on friendly terms. Their creative union which has begun group Black Sabbath, was formed a bit later.

At the age of 15 years Ozzy has been expelled from school, and, in view of difficult financial position in a family (it was the fourth of six children), the future rock musician was arranged to work as the assistant to the plumber. Subsequently Ozzy tried to work as the assistant to the mechanic, , the mechanic, the house painter and even the grave-digger. Without having found itself on a field of fair work, young John Osborn has tried to trade in thefts. Having got, it couldn't pay the penalty and has stayed (on different sources: one and a half or three) month in Birmingham prison. In prison Ozzy has made to itself the well-known headdress «OZZY» on joints of fingers of the left hand. Leaving prison, Ozzy has decided to test as the musician. Here just the group «Music Machine» which searched to itself for the vocalist was by the way sprained and Ozzi has taken a place at a microphone.

Subsequently, having decided to base own group, Osborn has advertized in the local newspaper in search of adherents.
