Nightwish — the Finnish metal band singing songs mainly in English. Has been formed in 1996 in the city of Kitee. Early creativity Nightwish differed a combination of a female academic vocal of former vocalist Tari Turunen and original atmosphere pauer-threw. This style define as pauer-threw more often and simfonik-threw. The voice of present vocalist Anett Olzon essentially differs from a former voice of group. In spite of the fact that they have become successful in the native land after the first single, the world recognition has come to them only after albums «Oceanborn» (1998) and «Wishmaster» (2000), with the clips which were a success on known TV channels.

In 2007 the group has let out album Dark Passion Play in which record new vocalist Anett Olzon took part. It has come in the stead of the former soloist Tare Turunen who has left group in 2005.
