Drake has signed the contract with large label Island Records in 1968 when to it was only twenty years. By 1972 it has let out two studio albums, but the circulation of any of them hasn't been completely sold during lifetime of Drejka. The commercial failure was promoted also by its unwillingness to give concerts and interview. Last years the life he suffered from depression and a sleeplessness that has found reflection in texts of its songs. After end of record of last, third album Pink Moon (1972), the musician lived in the house of the parents in small town Tanuort-in-Arden where has unexpectedly died on November, 25th, 1974 at the age of 26 years of overdose of the energizer registered to it drug. Till now it is not known, whether there was it accident or suicide: any agonal note it has not been found.
During the seventies to Drake's creativity didn't show a particular interest, only in 1979 retrospective compilation Fruit Tree has been published.
