Los Angeles quintet Local Natives – one of those groups which simply compel the listener to distract constantly on carrying out of parallels and comparisons. However, with similar things sin about eight modern executors from ten, but Local Natives have bypassed in this competition practically all. This group in the music uses not abstract "trends" - it takes concrete things from concrete executors: afro-popovye rhythms at Vampire Weekend, the twirled harmonies at Grizzly Bear. Strangely enough, Local Natives look, thus, much better the majority of the groups which are engaged approximately in same. First, they, apparently, don't aspire to hide at all the passion to use of another's ideas, having covered with its fig leaflet of claims , and secondly, are able to write remarkable songs. On “Gorilla Manor” practically there is no material through passage: Isn't present, of course, and especially eating in memory, but frankly unsuccessful compositions Local Natives don't write are the fact. Almost in each thing here it is laid up : even, apparently, not too interesting compositions, like «Cubism Dream» somewhere more close by the end quite can turn back numbers of surprising beauty and dramatic nature. If still somebody has hinted Local Natives that far not each song should last from four about five minutes “Gorilla Manor” would become even more dynamical and collected record.
