Iron Maiden — the British metal band which in the mid-eighties was one of the famous representatives of the New wave of the British heavy-metal, and has made considerable impact on metal development as a whole later.

The group founder, the author of the majority of songs (both music, and texts) and the permanent leader of collective is bass guitarist Steve Harris. Under its management the group with considerable changes in structure has passed a way from performances in the London pubs to international tour.

Iron Maiden have sold over 75 million copies of albums worldwide (from them three albums have reached the first place and 15 have got in Torahs of 10 charts of only one Britain). For the international achievements the collective in 2002 has been awarded by award Ivor Novello Awards, and in 2005 musicians have been invited to leave prints of palms in cement on Hollywood RockWalk (Parkway Sanset, Los Angeles).
