Enya was born on May, 17th, 1961 in the northwest of Ireland, in small village Dore Bartley, in the field of Gweedor, that in a county of Donegal. The average child in a family - at it four brothers and four sisters. Her father Leo - was the owner of a local pub. Her mother Baba taught music at local school. Children encouraged, if they practised music. And Enya hasn't disappointed parents - it began to take lessons of a piano and to study classical music.

As she speaks: «All it occurred in small Irish small town Dore Bartley where many spoke only in the native Celtic language. And I listened to music, any directions of traditional Celtic music. My parents were musicians. The father when to him was 14, began to be engaged in church music, and then and itself undertook the composition of the Celtic ballads. Mum was the teacher of music at my school, and I grew in atmosphere when you are surrounded only with fine music.»
