Beck (Beck Hansen, a real name — Bek David Campbell English Bek David Campbell, on July, 8th 1970) — the American musician-multinstrumentalist, the author of songs and the singer. Creativity of Beka is some link between folklore, beatniks and a present situation expressed by style hip-hop.

Nevertheless, something separated Beka from the majority of modern rock formations or experiments in avant-guard what were spent, for example, by John Zorn, it was its unique style of the improvisational statement. Some critics drew a parallel between creativity of Beka and the most dark moments in songs which were written by Bob Dilan as poet Allen Ginsberg has given him an appreciation.

After study in øêîëe in the mid-eighties Bek was engaged in self-education, traveled much, lived in Germany where it was helped by its grandfather, Ol Hanssen known for the participation in modern art currents. Being in New York, it was fond of the punk, and it was difficult enough moment in his life.

Áåê comes back in Los Anzheles, in poverty, but full of energy. To support itself, it was employed for various deadlock, low-paid and day works, for example, at garment factory, played various collectives and on what it is necessary, constantly continuing to improve own music. It acted in various clubs and coffee-shops, and aspired to creation of bright artistic show, at times comic and excentric.
